Alan Smith
Centre forward Alan Smith was signed from Leicester City for £0.85M in 1987 after scoring 84 goals in 206 appearances in 5 seasons for the first division club. Smith helped Arsenal win the 88-89 league one title becoming the league’s top scorer scoring 23 goals. Smith scored 22 goals in the 90-91 helping Arsenal win another league title. He went on to help arsenal win the league and cup double in 1993 and the Cup Winner’s cup in 1994 scoring in the final against Parma. Smith retired following the 1994-95 season due to injury. In total, Alan Smith scored 115 goals in 345 appearances.
Lee Dixon
English right-back Dixon started his professional career at Burnley later having spells at Chester City, Bury and Stoke City. Dixon was signed by Arsenal in 1988. Just like Winterburn, he was part of Arsenal’s famous defence which helped arsenal only lose one game in the 1990-91 season and helped Arsenal win the Cup Winner’s cup against Parma in 1994. In total Dixon made 458 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 24 goals. For his national team, Dixon made 22 appearances, scoring one goal.
