David O'Leary

O'Leary began his professional career in 1975 at Arsenal, making his appearance at the age of 17 against Burnley. He went on to make 558 appearances for Arsenal in 19 years. O’Leary became a highly successful centre back at Arsenal; he made his 400th appearance for Arsenal at the age of just 26. In the early 90’s he was used mainly as a substitute, finding it difficult to displace either Tony Adams and Martin Keown at centre back. In 1993, towards the end of his career, he joined Leeds United. David O'Leary went on to become a football manager, most notably taking Leeds United to the Champions League Semi-final.
